2018

Stenon was founded in Germany.
2019

Stenon HQ moved to Potsdam and secured a European grant. Pre-seed funding was closed with Atlantic Labs.
2020

Achieved FCC, CE, and TÜV certifications, secured a patent for Stenon’s technology, and raised seed funding led by Cherry Ventures.
2021

Stenon LLC was established in the USA, launched its product in the DACH region, received DLG certification, and closed a $20M Series A funding round led by Founders Fund and The Production Board.
2022

Began strategic preparations for international expansion.
2023

Entered the Kazakhstan market with an exclusive partnership with Eurasia Group in April, launched Stenon Ltda in Brazil obtaining local Anatel certification, and partnered with Lavoro Agro for market entry in September. Measured over 300,000 hectares globally.
2024

Expanded product launches to South Kazakhstan and North Kyrgyzstan, extended operations in Brazil, and grew the team to over 40 members.

Stenon’s leadership is spearheaded by Niels Grabbert, Founder and CEO, and Jens Meichsner, CTO

They're combining a strong business vision with advanced technological expertise.

Niels Grabbert holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and spent over seven years leading sensor research and development at the prestigious Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM). A holder of several patents and author of recognized publications, Niels drives Stenon’s strategic vision and innovation, ensuring the company delivers impactful solutions for the agricultural sector.

Jens Meichsner brings over 12 years of experience in software development and machine learning, with a background in startups from early stages to unicorn. As CTO, Jens oversees product development, working closely with Niels to create innovative, lean solutions that address farmers’ challenges. Together, they lead Stenon’s mission to transform agriculture through cutting-edge soil data technology.
